A new chairman has been appointed with immediate effect at multi-tie mortgage and financial advice network Openwork Group.

Christopher Rodrigues, formally chairman of consumer lending business International Personal Finance, has spent over 25 years in leadership positions.

He was president and chief executive of Visa International from 2004-2006, as well as serving as group CEO of Bradford and Bingley for the eight years previously.

Away from financial services, Rodrigues was the chief operating officer and later group CEO of holiday firm Thomas Cook.

The chairman role at Swindon-headquartered Openwork was left vacant after Kate Avery stepped down in December at the end of her tenure.
