The new head's primary responsibilities in Arizona will include expanding the firm’s business activities in the region, recruiting new advisors, and coaching team members to maximize performance.

UBS Wealth Management has appointed Ryan Lurie, an Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor™ (APMA™), to head the firm’s Arizona offices.

Lurie, who will be based in the Scottsdale office, will oversee the firm’s financial advisors and support staff in Phoenix and Scottsdale, the firm said in a statement. He will report to Justin Frame, UBS market executive for the Pacific Desert market, which includes San Diego, Orange County, Hawaii, Indian Wells/Riverside, and Arizona. 

In this role, Lurie will handle both client accounts and the development of UBS’s wealth management business in the area. His primary responsibilities in Arizona will include expanding the firm’s business activities in the region, recruiting new advisors, and coaching team members to maximize performance. Lurie has come to UBS after nearly seven years with Ameriprise in Phoenix, where most recently he was a managing director, the firm added.

He began his career in finance with Merrill Lynch in Florida. He achieved the Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor designation through an accredited course with Kaplan Financial Education.

An advocate for community involvement, Lurie was formerly on the Lee County School Board financial committee. He is a strong supporter and volunteer of charitable fundraisers for public school sports programs, theatres, and the arts.

“Ryan is a strong leader and an outstanding advocate for both clients and staff,” said Frame. “He has lived locally and built a strong network of relationships for the past 12 years,” he added.
