UBS is fast becoming the world of wealth management’s leader in promoting brand awareness. Its advertising has become ubiquitous, reaching even to television campaigns during the recent football world cup.

But UBS' marketing has a more cultured aspect too with the sponsorship of many well-known orchestras around the world. The Boston Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra as well as orchestras in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Detroit benefit from the Swiss giant’s largesse in supporting the local communities in which it operates.

No surprise then when UBS became the first business to sponsor an entire season at the Minnesota Orchestra following a “substantial gift” from the bank to the Minneapolis-based orchestra on buying Piper Jaffray's brokerage division.

UBS Wealth Management US acquired the Minnesota-based Piper in April for $500 million in cash.
