Trio Leave Credit Suisse In Florida For First Republic

First Republic has made three hires from Credit Suisse in The Sunshine State.
Former Credit Suisse employees Barry Berg, Phil Gilbert and Zach Berg have joined First Republic as managing directors and portfolio managers in Palm Beach, FL.
Barry Berg was previously a director of private banking at Credit Suisse, which recently announced that it is offloading its North American private banking brokerage business in favor of ramping up its UHNW unit (see more here). Earlier in his career, he worked at Bernstein Global Wealth Management for 17 years and at Ernst & Young for 16 years in West Palm Beach.
In his former role at Credit Suisse, Zach Berg specialized in tax and estate planning, the management and liquidation of concentrated stock positions, and the sales of privately-held businesses. Before working at Credit Suisse, he spent 13 years in commercial real estate, and was also director of operations at American Commercial Realty Corp.
Phil Gilbert spent the past five years as a vice president and relationship manager in the West Palm Beach, FL, office at Credit Suisse. Earlier in his career, he, like Barry Berg, worked at Bernstein Global Wealth Management.
In a similar move last month, Dagny Maidman, Chris Chase and Erik Ralston left Credit Suisse for First Republic, but in San Francisco, CA.
