Threadneedle Investments has appointed Lothar Mentel as head of product development. The position is a new one.
Mr Mentel joins from Barclays Wealth Management, where he was head of investment product development. He has also worked at Commerzbank Asset Management in Frankfurt. He will initially be working with the current head of product development, Mary Blair, who plans to retire from Threadneedle next June.
He will report to Lorin Gresser, head of product strategy, who is responsible both for the strategic direction of product development and for Threadneedle’s alternative products division.
