Fidelity Brokerage Services has been voted the most prestigious full-service brokerage brand in the US, according to a survey by the New York-based Luxury Institute.

"Fidelity Brokerage Services earned a solid score of 54 against 52 for its nearest competitor," said Milton Pedraza, chief executive of the Luxury Institute in a statement.

He added: "Fidelity clearly distinguished itself with the discerning wealthy in a hotly contested and commoditized category through its demonstrably superior quality, and in the critical customer relationship metric of 'making the customer feel special across the entire customer experience'."

Twenty brokerage brands in the US were rated including (in alphabetical order) A.G. Edwards, Charles Schwab, Deutsche Bank, Edward Jones, Fidelity Brokerage Services, H&R Block, Janney Montgomery Scott, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Oppenheimer, Piper Jaffray, Raymond James, RBC Dain Rauscher, Smith Barney, TD Waterhouse, Bear Stearns, UBS, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.
