The Hartford has appointed a new head of marketing and communications at its wealth management business, nabbing a TV producer from Thomson Reuters.

David Collins has been appointed as a vice president at the firm, responsible for raising the profile of its wealth management activities. He joined Thomson Reuters after a 20-year career in financial services in Japan.

"I've worked on both sides of the fence in my career – in business and journalism – and I'm excited to be combining that experience for The Hartford's wealth management business," said Collins.
