Texas Tax, Financial Planning Firm Makes Two Senior Hires

HD Vest, the
independent broker-dealer focused on tax and
financial planning, has named Ruth Papazian as chief marketing
officer and head
of recruiting, while appointing Adi Garg as chief information
officer.
Specifically, Papazian oversees HD Vest’s advisor recruiting
and marketing communication activities. She has over 30 years of
experience
serving in these types of role, having latterly been executive
vice
president and chief marketing officer for LPL Financial.
Papazian has also held senior executive roles at Ameriprise
Financial, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Evergreen
Investments/Wachovia
and Wells Fargo Securities.
Meanwhile, Garg has 22 years of experience as a technology
executive in various industries and in his new role oversees
technology
strategy, product development, operations, and information
security for the
company.
Garg was most recently vice president for Cash America, where
he
led strategy and infrastructure operations. He has also held
leadership roles at Citibank and FedEx.
Papazian and Garg will both report directly to president and
chief executive, Roger Ochs.
The firm is headquartered in Irving, TX. It used to be owned by
Wells Fargo, which previously said that HD Vest’s business “does
not align
precisely” with the model of Wells Fargo Advisors,
which focuses on
wealthy clients.
