Tech collective stresses vendors' interoperability

Your Silver Bullet helps advisors know what technologies can work
together. Long Beach, Calif.-based document-management technology
provider Laserfiche has joined up with Your Silver Bullet, a
marketing collective of about 20 financial-service technology
providers offering a menu of CRM, portfolio-management and
financial-planning software.
Laserfiche, which has been in business for about two decades,
recently took aim at independent RIAs with a product suite that
is meant to simplify compliance, streamline customer-relationship
management and save time in the process.
Playing nicely
"We are committed to providing relevant, innovative electronic
document management solutions and ongoing support to the RIA
community, which are vital today in this increasingly stringent
and competitive environment," says Laserfiche's head of business
development Chris Wacker.
Six-month-old Your Silver Bullet's principal selling point seems
to be that its member's respective applications can be integrated
into a "super program" that works in concert and requires that
information be entered only once.
In fact, not all the technologies offered by Your Silver Bullet
members, "play well" together, but the collective's website has a
decent labeling system to help you understand which ones do.
Greg Friedman, a principal of CRM Software and a founder of Your
Silver Bullet, says that e-document management is growing
"increasingly important to financial advisors as their businesses
grow because it allows them to increase services to clients and
control costs, especially for regulatory compliance tasks."
So far Laserfiche is Your Silver Bullet's only
document-management provider in the Your Silver Bullet
collective. -FWR
