TD Bank Settles Rothstein Investor Lawsuit In Florida

TD Bank has settled a lawsuit filed against it by a group of investors in the Ponzi scheme run by Scott Rothstein, a law firm involved in the case confirmed.

The group of 50 investors is collectively know as the Razorback Group, and was claiming losses of $180 million in a case against multiple defendants.

The legal team for the investors was led by Fort Lauderdale, FL-based attorney William Scherer, of the law firm Conrad & Scherer. The firm declined to comment on the size of the settlement.

Rothstein has pled guilty to a massive $1.2 billion fraud and has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.

Another defendant named in the investor case, Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust, is due to face trial in Broward Circuit Court, FL in March as things stand, Conrad & Scherer confirmed yesterday.

However, a proposed settlement was discussed last week with Gibraltar Private, which would extend to its former owner, Boston Private Financial Holdings, according to Orlando Business Journal.

TD Bank declined to comment.
