Swiss Firm Reaches Out To US Clients Seeking Investment Advice With New Website

Where Americans are Welcome (WAAW), a research platform based in Brütten, Switzerland, has launched a new website called Americanswelcome.ch, aimed at helping American investors find investment advice in Switzerland following the US government’s crackdown on tax evasion.

Where Americans Are Welcome (WAAW), a research platform based in Brütten, Switzerland, has launched a new website called Americanswelcome.ch, aimed at helping American investors find investment advice in Switzerland following the US government’s crackdown on tax evasion.

WAAW said in a statement that its new web-based platform provides access to Swiss Securities and Exchange Commission-registered investment advisors to serve American clients in the US without cross-border restrictions.

While many Swiss banks have closed the accounts of their US clients as a result of possible legal entanglements and increased regulation costs, a growing number of pro-American Swiss wealth managers have registered with the SEC in the US in order to serve American clients, the WAAW said.

The implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act has forced firms around the world to reconsider their business strategy, leaving many US expats struggling to find advice.

An increasing number of US citizens across the globe have found themselves in what has been described as a financial black hole, having been dropped by firms such as HSBC, UBS and Brewin Dolphin, which have decided they no longer wish to service Americans clients with foreign accounts.

“The most entrepreneurial-spirited SEC-registered Swiss wealth managers provide easy access to their services on WAAW. Interested investors and business partners can easily find and research Swiss wealth managers dedicated to US clients, from the large bank-related institutions to smaller boutique-style companies,” the WAAW said.
