SunGard Launches Online Wealth Management University

Financial services software giant SunGard has launched Wealth Management University, a process which it says will boost the sector’s productivity and help retain clients and staff.
The firm described its venture, which has now gone live, as “a professional development and training solution for financial advisors, bank and trust professionals, and benefit administrators”. The program provides training and the ability to earn continuing credits for professional designations as well as product training on SunGard systems. Training for WealthStation, the firm's wealth management platform, will be added by the end of the year.
Wealth Management University is a subscription-based course, hosted via a Web-delivered learning management system. The new advisor-focused curriculum is provided by the training and compliance firm CFM Partners, which is based in Washington DC.
“By providing 24/7 access to courses, a streamlined tracking and reporting process, and a curriculum that meets both professional and compliance needs, SunGard’s Wealth Management University can help firms reduce the time and cost of training and continuing education while enriching and developing the skills of their staff,” said Blaine Maxfield, chief operating officer at SunGard’s wealth management business.
