In a month of moves and changes, one announcement – not unexpected – stood out. Warren Buffett, the legendary investor, said he would be standing down from leading his Berkshire Hathaway firm at the end of this year.
Broadridge Financial Solutions appointed Ashley Wood as managing principal, US client solutions, in its data and analytics business. It also named Gemma Cowie as head of global growth solutions within its data and analytics business, and Kevin Feeley as head of client services and operations for US mutual funds and non-listed issuer proxy business.
Wood, who is based in Boston, has worked in the asset management community for more than 15 years. Cowie joined from Royal London Asset Management, where she served as head of strategy. Feeley served as director of global shareholder services at Franklin Templeton/Putnam Investments.
Equitable appointed two figures to join its wealth arm, Equitable Advisors – Ross Pake and Pat Tierney. Pake, who has 40 years' industry experience, moved his practice, Legacy Wealth Management, to Equitable Advisors from Cetera. Pake's practice is based in Tustin, California. Based in Orlando, Florida, Tierney joined Equitable Advisors from Lincoln Investments. He has 27 years’ industry experience.
Beacon Pointe Advisors, an RIA, added advisor and retirement plan specialist Greg Mykytyn who is based in Dallas-Fort Worth. Prior to Beacon Pointe, Mykytyn served as managing director for Commerce Street Investment Management in Dallas.
Northern Trust Asset Management appointed Gary Paulin as chief investment strategist for its international business and Joseph Tanious as chief investment strategist, North America. They replaced Wouter Sturkenboom and Chris Shipley, who left the company.
PNC Asset Management Group named Yung-Yu Ma, PhD, as its chief investment strategist. Ma, who is based in Philadelphia, has more than 20 years of financial services and consulting experience. Most recently, Ma was chief investment officer for BMO Wealth Management where he led asset allocation, market analysis, modeling, and portfolio construction for the firm.
Confluence Technologies, a technology solutions provider for regulatory, analytics, and investor communications in the investment management industry, appointed Kathleen Keenan as chief product officer. She is based in Boston. Most recently, she was vice president of product management for investor communication services at Broadridge.
Prosperity Capital Advisors, an RIA, appointed Stan Milovancev as co-chief executive and Scott Rister as co-president and chief financial officer. Milovancev serves alongside co-CEO, Jason Smith, who moved to the chairmanship role. Before this, Milovancev was president of CBIZ Investment Advisory Services.
Caprock, a multi-family office RIA, appointed Frank Giuliano as corporate development head. Giuliano has more than a decade of strategic experience, most recently as a vice president of corporate development for LPL Financial.
Law firm Withers appointed former Sotheby’s senior figure Mari-Claudia Jiménez as part of its drive to expand art advisory and legal expertise for this area. Jiménez joined as a partner and leads Withers’ art and advisory practice in New York.
UBS Private Wealth Management appointed banker Lin Reynolds in its New York office, as senior vice president of wealth management and member of the Wright Hoffman Reynolds Group. Conigatti joined as a member of the Wright Hoffman Reynolds Group, a team specialized in wealth management within UBS Private Wealth Management. Prior to this role, Reynolds was a banker for JP Morgan Private Bank in New York.
Summit Trail Advisors appointed Jeff Ringdahl as partner, president and chief operating officer in New York. Ringdahl joined after more than 14 years at Resolute Investment Managers, where he most recently served as president and CEO.
Citi Wealth appointed Patty Sachs as its new wealth marketing head. She reports to Alex Craddock, chief marketing and content officer. Sachs is also a strategic partner to Andy Sieg, head of Citi Wealth. Prior to this role, Sachs worked at Publicis, the advertising and PR group.
Great Diamond Partners, a Portland, Maine-based independent wealth management firm, added Stephen Poulos as senior financial advisor. Poulos was formerly with HeadInvest, where he served as partner and portfolio manager. The northeastern firm also appointed portfolio manager Mark Doehla, formerly with H M Payson.
Apex Group appointed a new global head of Apex Invest, Philipp Levy, based in New York. Levy succeeded the role from John Papesh, who remained at the firm, focusing on the Middle East and based in that region. Levy joined Apex Group in May; before this, he was head of marketing and investor relations for several event-driven funds based in New York City.
Emigrant Bank appointed former Cresset Capital Management and Pitcairn senior figure, Mark Rogozinski, as managing director and head of family office services. Rogozinski has more than a quarter century of executive leadership experience covering wealth management, multi-family offices, and financial technology. At Cresset, Rogozinski served as executive managing director, strategic initiatives. He previously served as president of Cresset Family Office. Prior to Cresset, he was chief strategy officer at Pitcairn, the multi-family office.
Bernstein Private Wealth Management appointed Ashley Velategui as the head of its wealth strategies group. She is based in Seattle. Velategui has been at Bernstein for 18 years.
Deutsche Bank appointed Nicola Baker as managing director. Baker, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector, spent the last 13 years in Citi Private Bank. Based in San Francisco, Baker reports to Elom Kpordze, who is the head of the private bank’s west coast north region.
Nicolas Schlosser joined as a senior relationship manager, based in Los Angeles. Schlosser reports to Thomas Klemm, the private bank head for the west coast south region.
Toronto-listed Fiera Capital, an asset manager, hired Maxime Ménard as global president and CEO. Jean-Guy Desjardins, Fiera’s founder, continues to provide strategic oversight, shaping the firm’s investment philosophy and steering global asset allocation across public markets and multi-asset solutions.
Gabriel Castiglio, executive director, global chief legal officer and corporate secretary, was appointed executive director and global chief operating officer. Lucas Pontillo, executive director and global chief financial officer, also leads corporate strategy, expanding his mandate.
Northern Trust Asset Management appointed Michael Hunstad and Christian Roth as global co-chief investment officers. They succeeded Angelo Manioudakis, who retired from NTAM. Manioudakis joined NTAM in September 2021 after more than 30 years in the asset management industry.
Callan Family Office, an RIA serving ultra-high worth individuals, family offices, foundations and endowments, appointed Jeff Getty as chief tax strategist. Previously, Getty held positions with Key Private Bank, including leading the family wealth consulting team and forming the bank’s business advisory practice.
Citigroup said former JP Morgan Private Bank figure Russell Budnick would be joining Citi Wealth in August as capital markets head. Budnick will report to Keith Glenfield, the head of investment solutions. Prior to this, Budnick was global head of market strategy and trading in the capital markets group of JP Morgan Private Bank.
US-based Nordwand Capital, a multi-family office and RIA, appointed Patrick J McGinnis Jr as a managing director and financial advisor. Previously, McGinnis served as a senior portfolio manager at Fiduciary Trust.
Houston-based Americana Partners added four industry figures from Morgan Stanley in the same city. Formerly known as The AHM Group at Morgan Stanley, the team includes Palmer Moldawer, Will Carsey, Will Gutkowski, and Kayla Sickman.
Hightower appointed former Invesco figure Jennifer Krevitt as chief human resources officer. Krevitt spent the last year building a private consulting business focused on counseling organizations and senior leaders across a range of companies.
Blackstone Private Wealth, part of Blackstone, appointed Jennifer Abate as a senior managing director and the head of registered investment advisor channel. She is based in New York. Abate previously spent over 30 years at Lazard Asset Management, latterly serving as managing director responsible for building and leading the financial institutions group.
US investment luminary Warren Buffett announced that he intends to stand down at the end of 2025. He is to hand over the CEO slot to vice-chairman Greg Abel.
Wilshire Advisors appointed Jason Schwarz to chief executive. He succeeded Andy Stewart, who assumed the role of executive chairman and continued to provide strategic guidance. With more than 25 years of experience in financial services, Schwarz most recently served as president and deputy CEO at Wilshire.
State Street appointed John F Woods to chief financial officer, taking over from Mark Keating who had served as interim CFO since February. Prior to Citizens, Woods spent several years at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group where he was most recently CFO of MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation.
Raymond James
The firm welcomed financial advisor Bryan Griffin to its
independent advisor channel. Griffin was previously affiliated
with Edward Jones.
Raymond James also brought in financial advisor Debi Gregory to its independent advisor channel. At DG Financial in Puyallup, Washington, Gregory was joined by client service associates Wendi Bertram and Katie Irwin. Gregory joined from Edward Jones.
Gregory serves as president and CEO of the practice, bringing nearly 15 years of advisory experience gained at her previous firm.
The firm brought in financial advisors Michael Forbes and Colin Forbes to its independent advisor channel. The advisors operate as Forbes Private Wealth in Draper, Utah and were joined joined by senior client service associate Wendy Kilbourne.
Raymond James also welcomed financial advisors Christopher J Guandolo, Marc Allen Brown and Maria A Corradi to its independent advisor channel.
The firm welcomed financial advisor Jason Hancock to its
independent advisor channel. Hancock joined the team at Voyager
Wealth Advisors in Salt Lake City, Utah. Previously, he was
affiliated with Morgan Stanley where he managed nearly $185
million in client assets.
