A summary of moves and appointments in senior wealth management roles around the world.
Rothschild & Co appointed Javed Khan as managing partner of Rothschild & Co Gestion, the entity responsible for the management of Rothschild & Co. Khan works alongside Alexandre de Rothschild, executive chairman, and the other two MPs, Robert Leitão and François Pérol. In parallel, Marc-Olivier Laurent stepped down as an MP. Khan has been head of merchant banking at the firm.
IQ-EQ, the investor services group, appointed Tasnoova Zaki as new group compliance head, a newly-formed role as regulatory requirements continue to mount. Before this, Zaki worked for Citigroup.
Banque Cramer & Cie appointed prominent Swiss banker Eric Pfister as chief executive. Pfister, with more than three decades of industry experience, worked for more than 20 years at Credit Suisse in roles including head of UK International. He was head of Middle East and Asia at Clariden Leu. Most recently, he was global head of private banking at Falcon Private Bank, before moving to ODDO BHF (Switzerland) in 2018 where he was the CEO.
Prior to Pfister's arrival, the bank was managed jointly by the three members of the executive committee (Marc-Henri Balma, André Mankowsky and Stéphane Poulin). Cedric Anker was CEO from 2017 to 2019 when he left for Bordier. After this, Stephan Keiser was CEO ad interim until he left at the end of 2020 to head Gonet’s new Zurich office.
UK wealth manager Brewin Dolphin appointed Leslie Redwood as head of charities business development. Based in Bath and London, Redwood works with the eight teams of the firm’s charity specialists to help develop the business nationally and add value to its partnerships with third sector organisations across the UK. He replaced Ruth Murphy who has recently retired after a decade with the firm. Redwood brought 15 years of charity, third sector business development, partnerships, marketing and communications experience within the financial services sector. Most recently Redwood was a chief executive officer at Citizens Advice National charity in London.
UK-based BRI Wealth Management appointed Dan Boardman-Weston (pictured) as chief executive officer. Boardman-Weston, chief investment officer, took over from Simon Boardman-Weston who became executive chairman. Dan Boardman-Weston, who will maintained his CIO responsibilities, is still based in Meriden, Solihull, in the West Midlands.
Crestbridge appointed Barry Hindmarch as director and head of real estate UK to strengthen the firm's real estate services team. He is based in London. With more than 25 years of experience in UK and international real estate, Hindmarch was head of UK, Channel Islands, and Ireland for one of the top five fund administrators globally, where he was responsible for establishing oversight and reporting on real estate as a specialist service.
Multi-asset manager Russell Investments appointed Gavin Anderson as director, private markets. Based in London, Anderson reports to Chris Davies, head of UK distribution, and works with Michael Steingold, investment director, private markets. Anderson joined from Scottish-based family office Chroma Ventures where he was investment director. Previously, he was an investment manager at a UK mid-market private equity firm. He has more than 10 years of investment industry experience, with a focus on alternatives and private investments at asset managers, investment banks and ‘Big Four’ accounting firms’ deal advisory groups.
HSBC Asset Management appointed Fatima Hadj as climate investment strategist, and Laëtitia Tankwe as head of sustainability implementation and assurance. Based in London, Hadj reports into Stuart Kirk, global head of research and responsible investments. Hadj has more than 20 years’ experience in scaling businesses across financial services and in supporting businesses to consider ESG factors from a risk and impact perspective.
Based in Paris, Tankwe reports to Erin Leonard, head of sustainability. In this newly-created role, she focuses on creating and delivering market-leading assurance frameworks for HSBC AM’s sustainability commitments to customers and industry partners. Before joining HSBC AM, Tankwe was responsible investment advisor to the president of the French public sector pension scheme, Caisse des dépôts Group.
VG, the Jersey-based provider of trust, corporate and fund administration solutions, appointed Gabriela Jakubczyk, Matthew Hibbs and Zach O’Shea to join its corporate team.
Jakubczyk joined as an associated director, working with Steve Langan, director of corporate and capital markets. Prior to this, she worked at Aztec Group, a fund and corporate services provider to the alternative assets industry. Hibbs is a manager with 14 years’ experience of traditional trust and company administration. He most recently worked at Pentera Trust Company in Jersey, where he ran an extensive portfolio of real estate companies involving commercial and residential assets across a variety of jurisdictions. O’Shea, who was made a trust officer, was formerly at Oak Group where he administered a portfolio of companies, trusts, registered offices, and other entities.
Richard Charnock, the chief executive of the discretionary business at abrdn, the firm formerly known as Aberdeen Standard Investments, retired, stepping down in April.
Credit Suisse named a former HSBC senior figure, Sven Stephan, to head up its wealth business in Germany, focusing on the ultra-high net worth and entrepreneurs segment. Before joining Credit Suisse (Deutschland) in 2021 as managing director, Stephan led HSBC Deutschland’s private banking team. He has 23 years of experience in banking, 17 of which are in wealth management. He is based in Frankfurt.
Stephenson Harwood added Jonathan Conder, formerly from Macfarlanes, as a partner based in its London office. Conder, 60, advises UK and international private clients, trustees, foundations, family offices and private banks on all aspects of tax, trust, estate and succession planning, as well as regulatory, immigration and philanthropic matters. He also has significant experience in assisting families and trustees on contentious matters. At Macfarlanes he was a partner and formerly head of the firm's private wealth practice.
Muzinich & Co hired Yiannis Bartzilas as director of environmental, social and governance business. Bartzilas joined from Pimco, where he was an ESG and climate change specialist. He is based in London.
Capital Group appointed former Morgan Stanley senior figure Kat Ferris to the newly-created role of Asia and Europe product development head. Ferris reports to Alexandra Haggard, head of product and investment services for Asia and Europe. With more than 16 years’ experience in asset management, Ferris joined from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where she was head of international product for four years.
At Credit Suisse in the UK, Sarah Macdonald, a senior relationship manager based in the Cambridgeshire area, Will Ladenburg, a director in London, and Paul Whelan, a VP in London, departed from the bank.
Reyl Overseas, part of the Swiss banking group Reyl Intesa Sanpaolo, brought back senior figure Roger Groebli as its chief executive. He had previously been the firm's CEO from 2012 to 2015. Groebli, based in Zurich, is responsible for developing the wealth management services for US clients. Groebli has more than 35 years’ experience in securities trading, portfolio management, research and advisory in private banking. As a financial analyst, he is a former strategist for Asian equities and head of equity research at ABN AMRO Private Banking based in Singapore. He is also prospecting and building relationships with HNW clients across three continents (Asia, Europe and North America). He has gained experience at UBS, ABN AMRO, LGT and at Credit Suisse recently as head of private banking for North Asia.
Cazenove Capital, part of the UK-listed Schroders group, appointed Nick Keenan as a portfolio director in its Edinburgh office. Keenan brought more than 25 years of industry experience to the Edinburgh team, which is led by Bob Hair. He joined from Barclays Wealth Management, where he served in several leadership roles which included responsibility for the wealth planning proposition in the UK and leading the wealth management teams in the North of England.
GAM recently appointed former BlueBay Asset Management senior figure David Dowsett as global head of investments. Dowsett reports to GAM chief executive Peter Sanderson. Juan Landazabal, head of trading, was elevated to head of investment platform and reports to Dowsett.
Two senior figures, Anthony Lawler and Greg Clerkson, decided to leave the firm. Lawler was head of GAM Systematic and its multi-asset businesses and Greg Clerkson was head of discretionary investments; both have made significant contributions to putting GAM on track for growth.
With almost 30 years’ investment experience, Dowsett worked for 18 years at BlueBay Asset Management, joining in 2002 at the outset of the firm’s journey. His roles included co-chief investment officer.
BNP Paribas Asset Management appointed Nadia Grant as head of global equities. Based in London, Grant reports to Guy Davies, chief investment officer, fundamental active equities. Grant is responsible for the firm’s global equity team based in London and Paris. With a career spanning 22 years, Grant joined from Capital Group, where she was a portfolio manager within the capital solutions group responsible for global multi-asset solutions. She was previously Columbia Threadneedle’s EMEA-based head of US equities, prior to which she served in various portfolio management roles at JP Morgan Asset Management.
Adding to his CIO role, Guy Davies was appointed deputy head of investments with immediate effect. Davies was based in London and continued to report to Rob Gambi, BNPP AM’s global investment head.
Stonehage Fleming, the multi-family office, appointed Nick Toubkin as director of its wealth planning team. Based in the firm’s London office, Toubkin, who has more than 15 years of experience, reports to Susie Hillier, partner and head of wealth planning. Toubkin previously worked at Strabens Hall as senior client director and a member of the investment committee and senior management team, advising ultra-high net worth and high net worth international clients on investment consulting, financial planning and wealth structuring services.
MASECO Private Wealth, a UK-based firm specialising in serving expat US clients, appointed former Mediolanum asset management figure Damian Barry as chief investment officer. He took over from the previous CIO who left last year. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Barry was the head of multi-asset management for Mediolanum. Before this, he ran multi-asset portfolios for Seven Investment Management in the UK. He has also run portfolios at Threadneedle and Russell Investments for a wide range of institutional, high net worth individuals and retail clients.
REYL Intesa Sanpaolo, the Swiss banking group majority-owned by Fideuram - Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking, appointed Jon Duncan to develop and implement its impact strategy. Duncan, who is based in Geneva, has more than 24 years of professional experience in sustainability research and engagement, eleven of which have been in financial services. He was involved in drafting the South African Code for Responsible Investment. He is a senior associate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and has served on the UN PRI global reporting and assessment committee.
Fiducia Partners, the London-based multi-family office, appointed former professional cricketer Stephen Reeves as investment director. Reeves, who has played in South Africa and England, read law following his decision to retire from professional cricket, and obtained a masters in international management, specialising in contract law.
Avignon Capital, the European real estate consultancy which oversaw €1.4 billion in assets as at 30 January, appointed Dr Nils Kok as senior impact advisor. He is responsible for leading the sustainability team. Dr Kok is a professor of real estate finance at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He was also founder and chief executive of GRESB, a global ESG rating company for real estate and infrastructure investments.
Lakemore Partners, the private credit investment firm, named Arno van den Heiligenberg as managing director and head of business development for Europe. The role was a new one for the business. Van den Heiligenberg most recently served as the global co-head of investment fund sales at UBS Wealth Management. Prior to this, he worked in various capacities at ING Investment Management, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, and Citigroup.
Candriam, the investment firm, appointed Jörg Allenspach as global head of private assets distribution, adding to his role as head of Candriam Switzerland. The role was a new one for the business.
Allspring Global Investments appointed Henrietta Pacquement and Janet Rilling to senior roles in its fixed income arm. Rilling, with 26 years of investment experience, leads Allspring’s newly-renamed Plus Fixed Income team, based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
UK/Switzerland-based wealth management firm Bellecapital tapped a former chief executive of Deutsche Bank UK, Sophie Hutcherson, as an independent board member. It also named Sarah Watters as head of UK portfolio management. Watters started her career at JP Morgan Asset Management and continued at BP Investment Management where she was head of equities and a member of the senior leadership team. Hutcherson, who has had a career of more than three decades in the banking sector, has served in executive roles for Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank, Liberum and Lehman Brothers.
BRI Wealth Management, the UK firm, appointed Jordan Laight as a financial planning “paraplanner.” Laight works with financial planners, assisting with drafting financial planning reports, advising clients on their investments based on objectives, risk profile and time horizon. Based in Meriden, Warwickshire, she will report to Nick Sinclair-Wilson, chartered financial planner.
Wealth advisory firm Artorius named former UBS senior figure Vanda Cox as business development director. Having worked at EQ investors, and previously Broadstone Corporate Benefits Limited, Cox has extensive experience within the financial services sector, including private client advice and planning, corporate pensions and employee benefits (including health, risk and flexible benefits), and wealth management.
Seraphim Space, manager of Seraphim Space Investment Trust, a UK-listed space tech fund, appointed Sarah Shackleton as its new chief operating officer. She is a partner of Development Partners International, the private equity house.
Fidelity International appointed Ghislain Perisse as head of insurance solutions, Europe. In this newly-created position, Perisse supports the expansion of the business with insurance clients across Europe, working closely with Fidelity’s institutional and wholesale sales teams. Perisse joined from Schroders, where he was head of insurance strategy for the EMEA region. Prior to Schroders, he worked at AXA Investment Managers and Morgan Stanley.
Quilter Cheviot hired an investment manager and two business development managers for its London office. Kevin Adams joined as an investment manager from WH Ireland where he worked for more than 23 years. He reports to investment director Mats Arthursson. Paul Keogh and Mark Henderson were appointed as business development managers. Keogh joined from Royal London Asset Management. Based in London, he covered the East of England. Henderson, who joined from VitalityInvest, is responsible for sales in London. They report to head of distribution for Quilter Cheviot, David Butler.
Allspring Global Investments appointed Matt Wren as chief technology officer. Wren joined from Allspring from BlackRock, where he most recently served as global head of investment technology. Before his role as investment tech head at BlackRock, Wren had various leadership positions at BlackRock, Barclays Global Investors, and Barclays Capital, spanning research, alpha generation, trading, investment operations, and risk management. Wren spent more than 24 years in the industry.
Artorius named Olivia Bucher as wealth planner. She joined Jane Fowke and Kate Thurman to provide wealth and financial planning advice to Artorius’ clients. Bucher, who previously worked at Chadwicks Ltd, St James’ Place Wealth Management, and most recently as a financial planner at Mazars, has almost seven years’ experience in financial services.
Tilney Smith & Williamson, rebranding to Evelyn Partners, named business advisor John O’Callaghan as professional services managing partner for Ireland. O’Callaghan joined from BDO where he has been a partner since 2006.
Quintet Private Bank-owned Brown Shipley made a raft of new hires across the Eastern UK region, including an ex-Barclays regional director. Simon Smith, who joined as managing director, Brown Shipley, has 34 years of industry experience. Smith was most recently regional director, East region, at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management. Brown Shipley also appointed eight additional client advisors who join Smith: Kevin Nevard, Paul Marshall, Mark Turner, David Vernon, Luke Caraccio, Warren George, Mark Harrod and James Haynes, all of whom have extensive experience of providing advice to private clients, most recently with Barclays Wealth & Investment Management.
Credit Suisse Asset Management appointed Colin Fitzgerald as global head of distribution. He joined from Invesco, where he most recently served as head of EMEA distribution and chief executive officer, Invesco Asset Management. Jo McCaffrey was appointed global head of product. Based in Zurich, she joined from PineBridge Investments, where she most recently served as head of products.
Filippo Rima, promoted to global head of investment, was head of
CSAM Switzerland and EMEA and chief executive officer of CSAM
(Switzerland). Previously, he was the division’s head of
equities.
Asia-Pacific
Specialist debt advisory firm Arc & Co appointed former Coutts
senior figure Paul Davies as regional chairman in Asia-Pacific.
Davies has more than three decades of experience in the financial
services industry, having held senior positions at NatWest Bank
and Coutts in the UK, Switzerland, India and in Asia. For 15
years he was based in Singapore, building Coutts’ Asian business
for high net worth clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and
Thailand, as well as for global Non-Resident Indians. His
previous role was vice chairman of Coutts, Southeast Asia.
Franklin Templeton named Sweta Dugar as head of institutional business for Southeast Asia, excluding Malaysia. Richard Surrency, head of alternatives for Asia at the firm, was assigned to a newly-minted role: head of relationship management and client services for Asia. They both report to Tariq Ahmad, head of Asia distribution at Franklin Templeton. Dugar is based in Singapore. Before joining the US firm, she worked at BlackRock and Capital Group, working in business development and client relationship management serving clients across Asia. Surrency, who joined Franklin Templeton in 2020, is still based and works from Singapore.
Saxo Markets in Hong Kong appointed Redmond Wong as market strategist. Wong, who reports to Saxo Group’s chief economist and chief investment strategist, Steen Jakobsen, is responsible for communicating Saxo's global investment strategy, generating Hong Kong and mainland China focused research, and delivering actionable insights across different asset classes and tradable instruments. Based in Hong Kong, Wong also reports to Richard Douglas, CEO of Hong Kong.
Value Partners named Hyung Do Kim as senior director, head of ETF business and Korea sales. Based in Hong Kong, Kim reports to the group’s president, June Wong. Kim worked in both Hong Kong and Seoul. Previously, he was deputy head of the quantitative investment department at CSOP Asset Management in Hong Kong. Kim also served as the head of ETF investment team at Korea Investment Management in South Korea.
Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management, or SuMi TRUST, appointed Hiroki Moritani as managing director of its London office, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust International Limited (SuMiTIL). Moritani took over from Yukihiro Murota who returned to the firm’s Tokyo headquarters. With 26 years’ experience in the financial industry, Moritani was previously general manager for global business, development, product management and distribution at SuMi TRUST’s global business development department in Tokyo.
UBS appointed two senior figures in its family advisory business for the Asia-Pacific market. Amy Lau was named family advisor and director, previously having worked at HSBC Global Private Banking, where she was director, family advisory. Andrew Lo was appointed head of family advisory and family office solutions for Greater China. He was a client advisor for the Hong Kong domestic market in UBS and, before that, worked at Coutts for a decade.
Global multi-asset investment manager PineBridge Investments appointed Kirk Sweeney as chief executive officer for Asia-Pacific. Sweeney replaced Anthony Fasso who left the firm in December 2021. Based in Hong Kong, Sweeney is responsible for PineBridge’s APAC business and joined the firm’s management committee. He reports to PineBridge’s chief executive officer, Greg Ehret, who is based in New York. Sweeney held various leadership positions across the region for twenty years. Prior to joining PineBridge, he was head of Asia and CEO for Hong Kong at ExodusPoint. Before that, he was chief executive officer of Asia for Millennium Partners, and head of senior relationship management, Asia, at Barclays. Earlier in his career, he established a fixed income sales and structuring platform for Nomura for Asia ex-Japan, and worked at Lehman Brothers in various roles, including as Hong Kong country head and head of Asia fixed income sales.
HSBC appointed Asia’s Microsoft president, Andrea Della Mattea, as an independent non-executive director. Della Mattea has more than 25 years’ experience in the technology sector. Prior to Microsoft, Della Mattea served in senior leadership roles at Insight Enterprises and Software Spectrum. She has led companies in Australia, America and Asia Pacific.
Credit Suisse appointed former UBS senior Asia banker Hugo van Kattendijke as head of its external asset manager business for Asia-Pacific and as a member of its global EAM management committee. Van Kattendijke reports to Benjamin Cavalli, head of wealth management for APAC at the bank. Van Kattendijke is based in Singapore. At UBS, van Kattendijke led its EAM Asia-Pacific teams in Hong Kong and Singapore from 2018. He has served in a number of senior management roles, including head of asset servicing for APAC.
Northern Trust Asset Management created a team of quantitative specialists focused on Asia-Pacific, based in Melbourne and Hong Kong. The team is led by Scott Bennett, based in Melbourne. Bennett joined the firm in 2018 to take up the newly-created role of head of quantitative research for Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this, he spent 14 years at global asset manager Russell Investments and has, during his career, worked in a range of roles in Australia and the US.
Manulife Investment Management promoted one of its senior figures, Hui-Jian Koh, to the role of chief executive, Singapore. Koh retains her role as head of retail distribution and partnerships, Southeast Asia, it said. She reports to Michael Dommermuth, head of wealth and asset management, Asia for Manulife Investment Management. Koh joined Manulife Investment Management in 2019 as head of retail distribution and partnership, Singapore. Prior to this, she was head of product at Prudential, and before that, she was head of retail distribution at Eastspring Investments.
EY, the global accountancy and consulting firm, appointed Liew Nam Soon as the new country managing partner for Singapore and Brunei. He succeeded Max Loh, who was in the post from 2011.
Liew Nam Soon is the EY Asean regional managing partner – a role he has been in since 2019 and continued to retain in addition to his new appointment.
First Sentier Investors, part of by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation, appointed Yoshiki Ueno as deputy chief executive officer. Based in New York, Ueno worked at FSI from August 2019 as head of US governance. In his new role, he moved to Sydney, working with chief executive Mark Steinberg to help carry out the firm’s strategy. Prior to his time at FSI, Ueno spent more than 20 years at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (The Trust Bank) in a variety of roles including corporate finance, strategy planning for asset management and investor services business, and project management office of integration projects.
BNY Mellon Investment Management appointed Clarence Chan as head of client solutions for Asia-Pacific ex-Japan. Based in Singapore, Chan is responsible for building out the firm’s outsourced chief investment officer business in the APAC region. He reports to Doni Shamsuddin, head of Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) of BNY Mellon Investment Management.
Commercial real estate group CBRE appointed Luke Moffat as regional managing director, head of advisory and transaction services, Asia-Pacific. Moffat succeeded Manish Kashyap, who took on a senior leadership role in the company as global president, advisory and transaction services.
Moffat was most recently CBRE’s regional managing director, Eastern China and head of advisory and transaction services, Greater China. He relocated from Shanghai to Singapore. He has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, and prior to joining CBRE, was a director at BlackRock in Singapore.
Value Partners Group appointed David Wong as managing director and chief risk officer. Wong has oversight and management control of the overall risk management function across the group’s Hong Kong headquarters and overseas offices. Based in Hong Kong, Wong reports to the group’s president, June Wong. David Wong, who has worked in Hong Kong and Japan, spent more than 20 years in the banking and asset management industry. Before this role, he was MD and regional head of internal audit, Asia-Pacific, at BlackRock.
Standard Chartered in India appointed Saurabh Jain as its new head of wealth management. Jain took over from Samrat Khosla, who moved to a new role within the UK-listed bank. Jain joined Standard Chartered Securities (India) as chief executive in October 2019, and later went on to be the head of deposit products and client acquisition with Standard Chartered Bank, India, a role he held until his new appointment.
North America
Glenmede, the US investment firm, appointed Nicholas A Warren as
chief investment officer of Glenmede's Endowment & Foundation
Management business. He succeeded Stephen C Lehman, who is
retiring from Glenmede after more than 20 years. Warren reports
report to Adam Conish, director of endowment and foundation
management, and Peter Zuleba, director of investments.
Before this role, Warren worked for more than 10 years at Brandeis University, where he served as CIO for the institution’s endowment.
Raymond James brought in father-and-son financial advisors David Vallie and Mitch Vallie to its employee advisor channel. They are based in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The advisors, who operate as Vallie Wealth Management of Raymond James, joined the firm from Merrill Lynch, where they previously managed $353 million in client assets. The team includes senior registered client service associate Michelle A Loney.
The firm brought in financial advisors John Patat and Joel Gravina to Raymond James & Associates. Based in Naples, Florida, they operate as Focus Wealth Management of Raymond James. The team, which includes client service associates Stephen McLaughlin and Morgan Gatlos, previously managed approximately $175 million in client assets at Morgan Stanley, serving an assortment of clients, including individuals, families, business leaders and more.
Raymond James welcomed experienced financial advisor Stuart Scibetta to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel, based in its Western region. Scibetta joined Raymond James and Crux Wealth Advisors, a partnership of independent advisors affiliated with RJFS, from Edward Jones where he previously managed approximately $118 million in client assets.
The business brought in financial advisor Lance Murphy to Raymond James & Associates, its employee advisor channel, in Houston, Texas. Murphy previously managed about $207 million in client assets with Edward Jones, serving a mix of clients, including high net worth families, business owners and executives. He joined one of the firm’s Advisor Select branches managed by Alex Reznikov in the Post Oak/Galleria area of west Houston.
Raymond James brought in financial advisors John Clower, S Reed Grant to Raymond James & Associate. The advisors joined Wasatch Capital Management of Raymond James, which operates offices in Cottonwood Heights and Park City, Utah – part of RJA’s High Desert Complex led by managing director Pam McComas. Clower and Grant both arrived independently from Wells Fargo Clearing Services, where they previously managed about $925 million and $100 million in client assets, respectively.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management named Kevin Davis as senior client strategist. Davis is based in Houston and reports to Adam Innerst, market president, Houston.
Cresset Asset Management appointed three wealth advisors from Bank of America Private Bank, Fidelity Investments, and JP Morgan Securities. The advisors are Chris Georgopoulos, who joined Cresset’s West Palm Beach, Florida, office; Thomas McKeown, CFP, who joined Cresset’s headquarters office in Chicago; and Beth Kytle Chandler, who joined Cresset’s office in Atlanta.
Georgopoulos began his career in 2002 as an equity and options trader with AMR Capital. In 2010 he left the trade desk to head the sales team at Lowry Research Corp. Most recently, in 2017, he joined Bank of America Private Bank as a private client advisor and served as the lead advisor on a large book of ultra-high net worth clients. McKeown is based in Cresset’s Chicago office. Prior to Cresset, McKeown worked in various roles at Fidelity Investments. Chandler serves as a managing director and wealth advisor with Cresset’s Atlanta office. Previously, Chandler served as VP and wealth advisor with JP Morgan Securities.
Citi Wealth Services and Strategic Investments, part of Citigroup, appointed Eduardo A Martinez Campos as group head, reporting to Jim O’Donnell, head of Citi Global Wealth Management. Before this, he was chief operating officer at Citigroup and global head of investments for Citi Private Bank. He has extensive experience in the distribution of capital markets products to retail financial intermediaries, and has led Citi’s business integration efforts.
Joseph Roberts, head of the Wealth Advisory Services Group at Rockefeller Capital Management, was appointed to an expanded role that includes leadership responsibility for the firm’s family office advisors in the New York Metro area.
Julie Min Chayet joined Fiduciary Trust International as wealth director, serving clients from the company’s New York office. Min Chayet previously served as managing director at Bank of America Private Bank, supervising trust officers and working with clients across Connecticut, Upstate New York, and Long Island.
Lafayette Square, an impact investment platform in the US, appointed a real estate investment industry figure Onay Payne as managing director for the asset class. Payne, who has worked in the real estate business for more than 25 years, was previously MD and portfolio manager for Clarion Partners, a firm overseeing more than $70 billion of client money. She joined that firm in 2003. She started her career in JP Morgan’s investment banking arm.
KeyBank Wealth Management appointed Solomon Schmidt as executive vice president and Key Private Client national executive. Schmidt is based in Madison, Wisconsin, and reports to Joe Skarda, president of KeyBank Wealth Management. Schmidt has worked in the wealth management arena for more than two decades. Most recently, he headed the central wealth management advisor division for US Bank.
CIBC added six senior figures to its private banking and wealth management teams. The joiners were Diane McNeal; Nicholas Gibson; Gregory Botshon; Bonnie R Metcalfe; Emily Wheeler, and Kevin Hauri.
Baird, the wealth, capital markets and investment banking group, added the Arnold & Tai Group to its wealth management office in Denver, Colorado. The three-person team came to Baird from Wells Fargo and include John Arnold, who will serve as a managing director and financial advisor and Jessica Tai, who serve as a vice president and financial advisor. They are supported by client specialist Lisa Peterson.
Kraken, the digital asset platform, appointed Carrie Dolan, a financial services veteran in consumer fintechs and Fortune 500 companies, as chief financial officer. Prior to this, Dolan worked at Tradeshift, a digital payments and trade finance platform. Before that, she served in leadership roles at Lending Club, Metromile, Charles Schwab, and Chevron.
Allspring Global Investments recruited John Kenney has as head of strategic initiatives. Kenney reports to Joseph Sullivan, Allspring’s chair and CEO. Prior to this, Kenney served as an independent board member of a mutual fund platform and as an external advisor to Boston Consulting Group’s asset and wealth management teams.
Sanctuary Wealth said EverNest Financial Advisors, a firm based in Indianapolis, has chosen to partner with Sanctuary, which has acquired a minority position in the firm. The two-person team is composed of managing partners Frank Esposito, CFA, and Niki Woodworth, CFP®. With Sanctuary as a partner, they plan to grow their firm both organically and through the acquisition of other advisory practices.
Frank Esposito is in his thirtieth year in financial services, having started as an intern with Merrill Lynch in 1992 before spending a decade working with institutional investors at Goldman Sachs and Strong Capital Management. After leading investment teams at both JP Morgan Private Bank and UBS Financial Services, he moved to being an independent registered investment advisor. In 2015, Esposito merged his practice with Windsor Wealth Management, which led to the creation of EverNest Financial Advisors.
Managing director Niki Woodworth began her financial services career when she joined Windsor Wealth Management in 2017, where her roles included client service manager and director of client service. Since earning the Certified Financial Planner™ credential, she has been working with clients on retirement and estate planning, college funding, and debt and tax management.
Chilton Trust opened a new office in Naples, Florida. The office, which is located at 850 Park Shore Drive, added to Chilton’s existing presence in Florida. Thomas Walsh, senior vice president of the Southwest Florida region at Chilton, runs the office.
Pitcairn, the family office, appointed former Abbot Downing senior figure Jay Goetschius as managing director and head of Florida as the business focuses on developing in the Sunshine State.
At Abbot Downing, Goetschius was an MD working in Palm Beach and New York, where he served ultra-high net worth families and individuals. He has spent 30 years working with private clients on a range of family wealth management areas, including investment policy development, portfolio construction and asset allocation, risk management, and tax and estate planning.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management named Diana Kenneally as senior private banker for the New England region. Kenneally is based in Boston and reports to Vicary Graham, president, New England region. With 28 years of banking experience, Kenneally returned to the firm from Texas Capital Bank, where she most recently served as senior vice president, escrow and specialized services and deposit escrow relationship manager, senior vice president, Citizens Financial Group. She originally joined BNY Mellon in 2006 and served for 11 years in a variety of roles, including vice president, escrow sales specialist.
MRJ Capital, a $168 million registered investment advisor founded by Matt Greenberg, joined First Manhattan, another investment advisory house. Greenberg, a portfolio manager, along with his colleagues, continued to work with clients while using First Manhattan’s in-house research capabilities and operating platform. Greenberg has over four decades of experience advising individuals, families, retirement plans, and non-profit institutions. He founded MRJ Capital in 2013 and previously served as a managing director and investment analyst at Iridian Asset Management, where he spent over a decade co-managing institutional large-cap portfolios.
Julius Baer appointed José Miguel Irarrazával del Campo as new head of its office in Santiago, Chile, and replaced James Walker who decided to pursue other opportunities outside the firm. Del Campo founded Queulat Capital, a real estate investment platform for institutional investors and family offices in Chile. Before that, he was general manager of a local family office and head of the investment bank of Credit Suisse in Chile. Among other moves, Rocio Paredes de Danessi joined Julius Baer as a senior relationship manager for subregion Mexico and Hispanic Americas based in Zurich. She joined from Credicorp in Lima, Peru, where she was a portfolio manager for the wealth management division. Ivan Toro joined Julius Baer from BTG Pactual in Bogotà Colombia. He supports the head representative officer, Eduardo Garcia, who joined the team at the beginning of 2021.
BanyanGlobal Family Business Advisors named two of its team, Judy Lin Walsh and Nick Di Loreto, as partners. Judy Lin Walsh has specialized in working in complex family ownership systems to align the goals of the senior and next generations and to build effective and sustainable governance. She has clients spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. The promotions were: Katia Friend, market president and director of client strategy for New York Tri-State region, Stephanie Giroux, market president, Westchester and New Jersey, and Andrew Borner, market president, Greenwich, Connecticut and Garden City, New York. They each report to John Ippolito, regional president, New York Tri-State region.
Argent Financial Group appointed Janelle Palfreyman as vice president and trust officer. Palfreyman, based in Austin, Texas, focuses on developing and administering strategies for personal trust accounts. She reports to David Redding, market president for Austin.
