Societe Generale Bolsters Private Investment Banking Service In Geneva, UK

Societe Generale has appointed Giovanni Ortolani to the
newly created role of senior private banker for the French firm’s
private
investment banking activity in Geneva,
with effect from 1 October.
He has been chief country officer for Italy since 2007 and joined
the firm’s corporate
and investment banking business as senior banker and head of
public sector
coverage in Italy
in 2005. He has worked at firms including Bankers Trust and UBS.
In his new role Ortolani is responsible for launching private
investment banking activity by developing the offer with large
family holding
companies and family offices in Switzerland,
SocGen said in a statement today.
In addition, Renaud Billard is appointed relationship manager
in the UK
for this private investment banking service. They report
functionally to
Galeazzo Pecori Giraldi, head of private investment banking.
“This [PIB] offer allows family holding companies and family
offices to benefit from access to all the expertise within the
group,
particularly in terms of wealth management and investment
banking, for the
management of their private wealth and their business,” the firm
said.
