SocGen Adds To Asset Research Team In NY

Société Générale has named Michael Haigh as managing director and global head of commodities research at its cross asset research division, based in New York.
Haigh previously worked for the company in global research between 2007 and 2009. He joins from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, where he was global head of commodities research.
Haigh has also been associate chief economist for the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he authored several key reports on commodity markets, according to Société Générale.
In his new position, he replaces Frederic Lasserre who will move on to head up commodities for the investors group within the firm. Reporting to Patrick Legland, global head of asset research at Societe Generale cross asset research, he will work on strengthening the global research products offerings in all commodities.
In related developments at the firm, the equity research team in London was beefed up last week with four new analysts specializing in consumer goods.
