Silver Bridge Expands With New West Coast Office

Boston-based Silver Bridge has expanded its regional coverage with the launch of an office in Berkeley, California, and appointed Gretchen Lucas as a family office advisor.

Lucas joins the firm from Deloitte Tax, where she was a tax manager in the private client advisors group. During her career she has provided tax advice to a number of internet technology, private equity, venture capital, real estate and privately-held company clients in the Bay Area. She is also a member of the California Bar Association and the Orange County Estate Planning Council.

"Northern California is an important market for Silver Bridge and we felt it was the right time to expand both our footprint and family office team locally," said Steve Prostano, chief executive of Silver Bridge.

The new office adds to it operations in Greenville, Delaware, and Boston, Massachusetts.

Founded around 80 years ago, Silver Bridge advises on some $2.75 billion in assets. Last month the firm promoted Allison Taff to take on broader responsibilities as director of strategic planning, a newly-created role. She was previously director of family officer partners at the firm. Her responsibilities include managing partnerships with external firms to provide broader services.

The move comes at a time the Boston wealth manager is launching initiatives to widen its offering, including an expanded set of family office services, technology, educational opportunities, investments, trust and philanthropic services.
