Toronto-based EdgePoint Wealth Management has hired Pierre Novak as relationship manager for Quebec.

Chief executive officer Patrick Farmer said: "We have worked with Pierre in the past and are thrilled to be working with him again. Pierre has been very successful throughout his career developing strong relationships with financial advisors in Quebec. He shares our belief in the importance of putting investors' interests first."

Mr Novak joins from BluMont Capital, where he was managing director from 2002 to December 2009 with responsibility for sales in the Quebec territory.

Before that he worked for Trimark Investment Management, now Invesco Trimark, from 1991 to 2000, supporting financial advisors in Quebec, where he also built and managed a sales team.

Robert Krembil, a principal at Trimark, was also instrumental in the EdgePoint start-up.
