Securian Trust Names Head Of Newly-Created Wealth Services Unit

Securian Trust Company, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Securian Financial that deals with trust administration and trust investment management functions, has appointed Jason Schuller as senior vice president for the newly-formed wealth management services unit.

Schuller joined Securian in 2006 as wealth management counsel and prior to that served as a partner in a wealth advisory group at Piper Jaffray. He also co-founded the law firm Erickson and Schuller, which specialized in trusts, estates and business law.

The appointment comes amidst a reorganization effort within the firm, which aims to integrate the wealth management counsel and trust administration functions into the wealth management services arm.

Securian Financial Group is headquartered in Minnesota and has around $33 billion in assets under management. It has some nine million clients in all 50 US states and Puerto Rico.
