Scotiabank Appoints New Managing Director in Bahamas

Canada's Scotiabank has appointed Barry Malcolm as managing director of Scotiabank Bahamas.

Mr Malcolm has served as a member of Scotiabank Bahamas’ board of directors, and has previously worked with the Bahamas Financial Services Board, the Grand Bahama Port Authority and, most recently, was chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas.

Scotiabank Bahamas offers a full range of retail, corporate, and commercial banking services through a network of 20 branches. The bank also provides wealth management services including investment management, brokerage and private banking.

Scotiabank Group and its affiliates serve approximately 12 million customers in some 50 countries around the world, with $412 billion in assets as of 31 October 2007.
