James Leung has joined SEI Investments in Hong Kong as client portfolio manager, a position that is new to Asia but one that exists in the firm’s US, European and other international locations.

Mr Leung joins the asset management, fund administration and outsourced processing company from GAM in Hong Kong where he was a portfolio manager for absolute-return strategies in both traditional and alternative asset classes.

Mr Leung will focus on understanding what institutional and high net worth clients want or need, and pushing the necessary innovation within SEI to meet that need.

Earlier this month, SEI lost its global head of private banking and distribution business, Francis Jackson, to JP Morgan Worldwide Securities Services.
