Raymond James Unveils New Leadership Line-Up

The announcements come after the New York-listed firm – headquartered in Florida – said in March that it had a new CEO to take over from the current officeholder when he steps down.

Raymond James, which in March unveiled the appointment of a new CEO, has announced a raft of executive leadership changes, taking effect from October 1 this year.

Butch Oorlog, chief accounting officer of Raymond James Financial, has been named Raymond James Financial’s chief financial officer, taking over from Paul Shoukry, who had been made the new CEO, replacing Paul Reilly. (Shoukry is due to take up this role sometime during the 2025 financial year.)

Tom Walrond, senior vice president and division director, has been named president of Raymond James and Associates’ (RJA) private client group, the firm’s employee affiliation option. He will replace Tash Elwyn who, as previously announced, will become president of the company’s private client group as Scott Curtis assumes the role of the firm’s chief operating officer.

Steve Raney, CEO and chair of Raymond James Bank, has been promoted to oversee the firm’s bank segment and will become executive chairman of Raymond James Bank. Amanda Stevens has been named CEO of Raymond James Bank.

Steve Hufford, chief operating officer (COO) of investment banking, will take over as head of investment banking, upon Jim Bunn’s appointment to president of the capital markets segment.

The firm’s executive vice president of technology and operations, Bella Allaire, will become chief administrative officer. She will lead firm-wide business process innovation and service enhancement initiatives. Technology, operations and branch change management will continue to report to her. She will be succeeded by current chief information officer Vin Campagnoli as EVP of technology and operations.

Campagnoli will be succeeded by technology COO Andy Zolper, who will become the firm’s chief information officer.

Tarek Helal, SVP of investments and strategy, has been appointed as the firm’s chief strategy officer, a new role. He will lead the firm’s corporate development, cash solutions and cross border activities, along with new product and new business oversight.

“The board, Paul Shoukry and I are confident that our long-term succession planning process has identified and developed capable and experienced leaders to partner with Paul as we build for the firm’s future. Together, those taking on new responsibilities represent over 100 years of experience with Raymond James,” chair and CEO Paul Reilly said.

Joining the firm
Separately, Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors Vincent Zaccardi, Nicholas Zaccardi, and Gerard Mattaliano, to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm's employee advisor channel.

Based in Burlington, Massachusetts, the advisors and senior client service associate Dawn Balinelli operate as The Zaccardi Group of Raymond James. The group previously managed over $435 million in client assets at Merrill Lynch. They are joining RJA's New England complex, led by complex manager Bill Drew.
