Raymond James Brings Over Industry Heavyweight From Oppenheimer

The firm's latest hire has more than three decades of experience.

Raymond James has named industry veteran Richard Grobman as new head of its Philadelphia location, said Tony Barrett, Delaware Valley complex manager.

Alongside administrative manager Dawn DeAngelo, will support 10 advisors and six service associates overseeing more than $1.5 billion in assets. The pair have worked together for more than 26 years.

Grobman, managing director of investments and Philadelphia branch manager, joined Florida-headquartered Raymond James following a 30-year stint with Oppenheimer and predecessor company WH Newbold’s Son & Co.

While there, he oversaw around 20 financial advisors and support staff. He personally managed more than $420 million in client assets and had around $1.1 million in annual revenue.

“It’s exciting to have such an experienced and proven management team as Rich and Dawn join the Raymond James family in Philadelphia,” said Barrett. “Their commitment to deliver on what they promise is as genuine and profound as is Raymond James’ reputation of doing what we say we will. They both are solid professionals and will definitely help us continue our expansion in this market.”
