RBC Wealth Management Hires Duo From Advisory Firm

The wealth management arm of Royal Bank of Canada has assigned two former Slocum colleagues to research roles.

RBC Wealth Management has appointed Bryan Mullin to succeed Rohit Vohra as head of its alternative investment platform.

Most recently, Mullin served as principal and director of alternative research at Slocum, a Minneapolis-based advisory firm serving institutional investors. He brings experience in accounting, general management and commodities markets. He has also conducted research focusing on private equity managers, private debt managers, funds of funds, real asset funds and commodities.

Also joining RBC Wealth Management in a newly-created role as an analyst is Leif Gunderson, who was previously senior research associate at Slocum where he also focused on alternative investments including private equity, real assets and hedge fund strategies. He will report to Mullin.

"With Bryan Mullin at the head of our alternatives platform, we will provide our private wealth clients with access to the discipline and sophistication of institutional alternatives investing,” said Michael Armstrong, chief executive of RBC Wealth Management US.

Tom Sagisor, president of RBC Wealth Management US, commented: “We are pleased to welcome both Bryan and Leif to our firm. The work they do will greatly enhance the experience of the high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients that we specialize in serving.”

Both Mullin and Gunderson will be based in Minneapolis.
