RBC Wealth Management Bolsters Singapore Sales And Investments Team

Global private banking and wealth management firm RBC names two senior executives to its Singapore team.
RBC Wealth Management, the global private banking and wealth management firm, announced two senior hires for its sales and investments teams in Asia, this publication can confirm.
Lim Chee Tian has been named director, based in Singapore. Lim brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to the role and previously worked at Citi and Julius Baer. Prior to RBC, he had been an independent consultant working with global firms. In his new role, he reports to Soh Chye Guan, managing director and market manager in Singapore.
Also newly appointed is Lu Xinyi as investment counsellor also based in the city-state and reporting to Soh. Lu has a PhD in applied economics from the University of Tokyo and brings 25 years of experience to this role. He previously worked at Barclays Wealth, Mizuho Corporate Bank and UFJ Bank as an investment strategist.
Soh himself is new to the company, joining only in January 2014 from Barclays Wealth, along with Leslie Goh, who became part of the firm as investment counsellor from Union Bancaire Privee.
The hiring spree complements the Asia-Pacific Wealth Report 2013 conducted by RBC and Capgemini. The study said that while North America edged out Asia-Pacific as the largest wealth market by high net worth individuals population, the latter is expected to reclaim the top spot driven by a strong projected HNWI growth at 9.8 per cent annually to reach around $15.9 trillion by 2015.
