RBC Wealth Management Appoints Business Development Head For Channel Islands Push

RBC Wealth Management has launched a new Intermediary Wealth Solutions offering, appointing Adam Norris to lead the development of the business.

The services offered through the new Intermediary Wealth Solutions unit will include banking, cash management, treasury services, global custody, credit and financing, discretionary investment management and tax consultancy.

As senior manager, intermediary business development, Norris will be based in Jersey focusing on developing RBC’s institutional client relationships in the Channel Islands (such as with offshore trust companies, offshore fund and investment managers, family offices, insurance companies and captives).

Norris joins from HSBC Private Bank, where he oversaw a team focused on Channel Islands-based private clients and intermediaries. Before this he worked for Deutsche Bank in Jersey, managing portfolios for both high and ultra high net worth clients.

He now reports to Tim Houghton, RBC Wealth Management’s head of private client wealth management, offshore.

Another area in which RBC Wealth Management has recently made hires is its London-based Eastern Europe desk. Earlier this month the firm added directors Tanya Blazhko and Nathalie Gorshkova to this desk, charging them with expanding RBC Wealth Management’s reach into the Eastern European markets, including the CIS region.

Blazhko joined from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she had been vice president, structured products and derivatives on the firm’s emerging markets/CIS desk – a role which included marketing structured tailored solutions for her clients across asset classes, and managing senior client relationships.

Gorshkova, meanwhile, was latterly a senior relationship manager at BNP Paribas Wealth Management, working with high and ultra high net worth clients in the CIS region.
