PwC appoints Jane Portas as insurance regulatory partner

Jane Portas, a chartered accountant with 27 years’ insurance industry, regulatory and consulting experience, has joined PwC UK’s insurance practice as a partner.

In addition to her insurance market work, Jane Portas has undertaken various regulatory jobs, developing passporting policy, handling insurance authorisation, supervision and grandfathering policy and proffering advice about 'equivalence,' a nebulous term that the European Union uses when deciding what countries to favour with lighter regulatory demands. She believes that the regulatory landscape has never been more complex.
