Paul Prentice is to head a new sales trading and trading team in Minnetonka, Minnesota for Collins Stewart, the wealth management and brokerage firm, it has announced.

Prentice, who is joining Collins Stewart from Pali Capital where he co-founded the firm’s Minnetonka office, will be joined by his team of four generalist sales traders including John Burkhartzmeyer, Greg Pfleider, Matthew Dorn and Peter Thompson. The team plans to work across multiple platforms including private placements, derivatives, cash equities and fixed income.

Burkhartzmeyer and Pfleider have been appointed as managing directors; Dorn has been appointed director, and Thompson joins the firm as vice president.

Prentice’s Minnesota-based group adds to Collins Stewart’s sales trading and trading teams in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
