Pinnacle Wealth Brokers, the Canada-based investment and private wealth management firm, has acquired financial planner Global Exempt Market Solutions for an undisclosed amount.

Both firms provide alternative investments under National Instrument 31-103, which allows Canadians to invest in private offerings. The deal with Global Exempt comes on the heels of a similar partnership with Exempt Analyst, another Canadian company, to bring the latter's research services in-house.

Pinnacle Wealth also has an insurance unit called Pinnacle Wealth Planning, through which it offers life, critical illness, disability insurance and estate planning services.
