Pacific Asset Management Opens Latin America Arm In Uruguay

The London-based investment house has brought two sales directors in-house after they raised more than $100 million from regional investors through a third-party marketing arrangement.
Pacific Asset Management has set up a Latin American entity based in Montevideo, Uruguay, giving the business a permanent presence in the region for the first time.
Sales directors Inés Pick and Santiago Queirolo Vilaró have joined the new entity, Pacific Asset Management LATAM, full-time. The pair raised more than $100 million for Pacific over the past year under a third-party marketing arrangement. They report to Seb Stewart, partner and head of Americas business development, according to a statement.
Pick and Queirolo will cover Latin America and the US offshore market, building investor relationships and distributing the firm’s strategies. Pacific said regional demand for its actively managed strategies had been strong over the past year.
The move follows Carlos Rodriguez's hire as Pacific’s first employee in the US. The firm said both steps were part of a push to grow across North and South America and diversify its asset base.
Pacific was founded in 2016 by Matthew Lamb, its chief executive; it is the core asset management business of Pacific Investments, the family office which Sir John Beckwith set up in 1993. Australian firm Pinnacle Investment Management bought a 25 per cent stake in the company in November 2024. In August, Pacific acquired Asset Value Investors, the activist investor and investment trust manager, when it reported assets of more than £18.4 billion ($24.7 billion).
