PIMCO Adds To Its Commercial Real Estate Team

The California-headquartered investment manager said it is continuing to expand its global alternatives investment platform.
PIMCO has appointed Jeffrey Thompson - currently an executive vice president and portfolio manager in the firm’s New York office - to its commercial real estate team.
Prior to joining the global investment manager, Thompson was a managing director and co-head of the commercial real estate group at Annaly Capital Management, where he oversaw an origination team investing in commercial real estate debt and equity, as well as the asset management and underwriting groups.
In his new role, Thompson will be joining a commercial real estate platform where he will focus on commercial real estate lending opportunities, which is an important area of growth, PIMCO said. Based in the New York office, he will report to PIMCO’s co-heads of US commercial real estate, John Murray and David Chen.
”Jeffrey brings more than 20 years of experience as an investment professional to our accomplished commercial real estate team, which continues to find significant investment opportunities in this space globally,” said Murray.
