Oregon-Based RIA Gets A New Name

The new Fort Rock name comes from a well-recognized park known for its jagged rock formation in Oregon’s high desert.

Portland, OR-based Common Sense Investment Management has been renamed as Fort Rock Asset Management, in a move the firm says more accurately reflects its areas of expertise.

Scott Thompson, chief investment officer of hedge fund strategies, will manage the hedge fund investment business, while the managed futures investments will be co-managed by Jonathan Gane, chief executive, and Marc Lorin, president.

The rebrand comes after the firm announced a flurry of management changes last year.
