Ohio-Based Bank Hires First-Ever Head Of Wealth Management

This is the first time the bank has ever hired an individual to run its wealth management operation.
Ohio-based Farmers National Bank has hired Mark Wenick as chief wealth management officer. The new position marks the first time the bank has hired an individual to oversee the wealth management services it provides.
Wenick will oversee the wealth management services of the bank and its affiliaties. This includes managing and leading the operations for Farmers Trust, Farmers National Investments, Farmers National Insurance, Farmers Private Client Services and National Associates, the firm said yesterday in a statement.
He will also serve on the Farmers’ senior management team and the bank’s board of directors.
The new chief wealth management officer has more than 35 years’ experience in the sector. He previously served as regional president of both Chemical Bank and, Talmer Bank and Trust.
“We’ve seen an abundance of growth in our wealth management services, which sets us apart from other community banks of our size and makes this new chief wealth management officer position vital to its continued success,” stated Kevin Helmick, president and chief executive. “Mark is an excellent fit to lead the efforts of our five wealth management divisions given the depth of his background in wealth management, his vision for growing these divisions and his commitment to serving the community.”
Founded in 1887, Farmers is a financial services company with more than $2 billion in banking assets and more than $1 billion in trust assets.
