Northern Trust Names New EMEA CEO

Northern Trust has named Wilson Leech as new its new chief
executive for EMEA, succeeding Biff Bowman, who has held the role since 2008.

Bowman has been appointed to replace Lee Selander who is
retiring at the end of this month as head of the Americas for corporate and
institutional services. The appointment will see Bowman relocate to Chicago
from London.

Leech has been with Northern Trust since 2004, when he
joined to head the bank’s global fund services business. In his new
London-based role Leech will oversee all of Northern Trust’s businesses in EMEA
which provide asset servicing and asset management to institutional and ultra
high net worth clients.

“The EMEA region is an area of strategic growth and
continuing expansion for Northern Trust and Wilson’s experience, local
expertise and strong leadership will be instrumental as we build on the
contributions that Biff has made during his tenure as CEO,” said Steven
Fradkin, Northern Trust’s president of corporate and institutional services.

In another recent high-profile regional appointment, at the
start of September Northern Trust named Wim van Ooijen as its new country head
for the Netherlands, promoting him from his previous post as head of the bank’s
Dutch relationship management team. In his new role van Ooijen succeeds Eric
Pouwels, who was appointed director of strategic development for EMEA.
