Northern Trust Makes Senior Promotion In Foundation, Institutional Advisors Arm

Northern Trust’s national practice serves foundations, endowments and other non-profit institutional investors as either a dedicated investment advisor or as a fully outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO).
Northern Trust has promoted John Massey to senior managing director for the Foundation & Institutional Advisors practice in the East region of the US.
Massey will lead a team delivering investment management solutions, strategic insights and resources to private foundations, endowments and other non-profit institutions, the Chicago-headquartered bank said in a statement yesterday.
Previously, Massey served as a senior institutional investment advisor for the FIA practice. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2012, Massey worked for the State of Connecticut’s Pension Fund Management division as a principal investment officer. Earlier in his career, Massey worked at AIG SunAmerica Asset Management, JP Morgan Asset Management and Standard & Poor’s.
Massey received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Southern California. He has been involved in the Darien Youth Hockey Association and the Norwalk Grassroots Tennis program.
In August last year, FWR spoke to Northern Trust’s global family offices group about the work it does with this sector.
