Northern Trust Asset Management Changes Structure, Leadership Roles

The US-headquartered group made changes affecting its business in its home market and overseas, including Europe and Asia.
Northern Trust Asset Management, part of Chicago-headquartered Northern Trust has made a number of organizational and leadership changes.
NTAM’s structure includes the following appointments:
-- John McCareins (main picture), head of international business. NTAM is naming one leader responsible for both the Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific regions. In this newly-created role, McCareins will lead regional and country strategies, manage daily operations, regulatory affairs, relationships with other businesses, and build out local capabilities tailored to the regional clientele. McCareins will have a series of country managers reporting to him and he will continue reporting to Daniel Gamba, NTAM president.
-- Michael Hunstad (pictured below), deputy chief investment officer and CIO of global equities, will continue to report to global CIO Angelo Manioudakis.
-- Sheri Hawkins (pictured below), head of investment platform services, will lead a new group, Investment Platform Services, that will be closely tied with the investment organization. This new team will advance the firm's investment processes and platform to deliver investment and client portfolio management. The team will include equity trading, client portfolio management, index services, stewardship, and an expanded mandate for the Office of the CIO to cover performance monitoring and alpha enhancements across investment teams. Hawkins will continue to report to Gamba.
