Northern Trust Appoints UHNW-Focused Senior Wealth Strategist

The firm has appointed a senior strategist, focusing on UHNW clients in Greater New York and Florida.

Northern Trust has appointed Lisa Marcus as managing director and senior wealth strategist, having previously worked at Fiduciary Trust Company International for seven years as MD and business development officer.

In her new role, Marcus will be responsible for building and developing investment and trust relationships with individuals, families and foundations, with a particular focus on the ultra-high-net-worth market in Greater New York and Florida. She will report to Stephanie Goforth, senior vice president, East Region Sales and Marketing, Wealth Management.

“Lisa’s vast expertise in building relationships and providing wealth planning strategies for the ultra-high-net-worth clients will add significantly to our wealth advisory capabilities,” John Hoffman, President of Wealth Management, Northeast Region, said.

With more than 30 years of wealth management experience, Marcus has held senior positions with leading financial institutions, including managing director of Lehman Brothers, later known as Barclay’s Wealth, and 18 years at US Trust as a trusted advisor to wealthy entrepreneurs. Prior to that, she was a senior tax accountant at Arthur Young & Company.

Marcus will be based in Northern Trust’s Manhattan office and at the Boca Raton Office in Florida.
