New York-Based Financial Services Firm Appoints CIO For Investment Management Unit

A senior hire at industry newcomer Cornerstone Capital signals its determination to mark its place in the wealth management world.

Financial services industry newcomer Cornerstone Capital has named Phil Kirshman as chief investment officer of Cornerstone Capital Investment Management in Denver, CO.

Overseeing the firm’s private client wealth management investment strategies, Kirshman will help expand Cornerstone Capital’s geographic reach and open up new business opportunities.

Kirshman is latterly of The Leonard Sustainable Investment Group, a UBS consulting group, where he served as account vice president and senior portfolio manager. With over 20 years in the wealth management industry, he specializes in sustainable investment consulting.

"By expanding our service offerings to include private wealth management, with a focus on institutional clients, family offices and others, we’re now in a strong position to meet the growing market demand for professionally managed and direct sustainable investing solutions across all asset classes," said Erika Karp, founder and CEO of Cornerstone Capital.

The New York-based firm was launched by Karp in 2013 and offers investment banking, strategic consulting and, in the near future, investment management services.
