A new RIA was officially opened for business this week.

Canopy Wealth Management, a registered investment advisor set up by former Northwestern Mutual senior figures, has officially opened for business, and has offices in Middleton, Wisconsin and Southfield, Michigan. The business oversees more than $600 million in assets.

The founding partners, Eric Raether and Ernest Moosherr are joined by partners Rick Mida and David Muehl, as well as wealth manager, Joe Mayone.

The new firm has established a relationship with TD Ameritrade Institutional as its preferred agent for all custodial, clearing and trading support.

Its services include wealth planning, portfolio management, tax-aware investing and retirement planning, according to the firm’s website.
