New Chief Information Officer At BNY Mellon

New York’s BNY Mellon has appointed Suresh Kumar as chief information officer, replacing John Fiore, who has decided to retire in June.

Fiore took over the post of chief information officer in early 2010, having worked at the bank since 2005.

Kumar is currently chief information officer for the firm’s financial markets and treasury services businesses, in addition to its Pershing unit. He reports to Kurt Woetzel, who is both head of global operations and technology and chief administrative officer.

Kumar joined BNY Mellon in 1986 and in his new role will oversee technology strategy, application development and technology infrastructure, the firm said.

In previous roles there, he was the chief architect of Pershing’s technology platform, NetX360. He also helped establish iNautix Technologies India Private, a technology affiliate of BNY Mellon that provides development services. He will continue to serve as CEO of iNautix.

In other recent hires at the bank, last week PeterPaul Pardi was named as global head of distribution for its investment management business.
