Morgan Stanley has appointed Lisa Cregan as Mid-Atlantic regional director for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, based in Washington DC, reporting to Richard Skae, North East division director.

Cregan succeeds Drew Hawkins, who was recently named head of the new global sports and entertainment group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Cregan previously served as a complex manager in Houston, TX, where she was named one of Houston’s “50 Most Influential Women” in 2011 by Houston Woman Magazine. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2010, she spent 27 years at UBS and a predecessor firm, Paine Webber. She holds BA and MBA degrees from Georgetown University, where she was a member of the first MBA class.

“Lisa Cregan is an accomplished leader – passionate about serving clients, developing the professional skills of our people and advancing women in finance. She will do an excellent job leading our Mid-Atlantic Region,” said Skae.

The region, one of 12 nationwide, includes six complexes and 40 branch offices stretching from northern Virginia to Northern Ohio. It encompasses the Washington, D.C./Annapolis, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cleveland metropolitan areas. Clients of this region are served by 980 Financial Advisors and hold over $106 billion in assets with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

In January, Morgan Stanley appointed Erskine Bowles as lead director of the New York-listed firm’s board of directors, taking over from C Robert Kidder. Bowles has served as a Morgan Stanley director since December 2005 and as chair of the compensation, management development and succession committee since 2010. He was named co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform in 2010, and served as president of The University of North Carolina from 2006 through 2010.
