Military Veterans-Turned Advisors Join Raymond James; LPL Financial Adds Advisors

A firm formed by a former Navy officer and an ex-member of the US 82nd Airborne Division has joined the embrace of Raymond James.

Raymond James has brought over advisors Matthew T Pruitt and Matthew J Fisher to its employee advisor broker/dealer in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Prior to this, the advisors worked at Morgan Stanley, where they previously managed about $252 million in client assets. The team operates as Patriot Wealth Management of Raymond James. Their firm’s name stems from the fact that both men served in the military. (Their background fits with a pattern of former military personnel entering wealth management, as noticed by this news service.)

Also joining the advisors are Louise A Clauso, senior financial planning consultant, and Dale A Hoernlein, senior registered service associate.

Pruitt has been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, with experience as a financial advisor, sales manager and branch manager. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor in the Master of Business Administration program at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. Pruitt holds a BSBA in management information systems from the University of Arizona, as well as an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University. Prior to his financial services career, he held a variety of positions in the Navy for 25 years, including active duty and reserve service. In 1991, Pruitt served in Operation Desert Storm. In 2002, he was recalled to active duty for a period of one year to serve in the Middle East during Operation Enduring Freedom, where he received the US Navy Meritorious Service Medal. He retired from the Navy as a commander.

Fisher, first vice president, investments, has been in the industry for over 15 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, a master’s degree in general administration from Central Michigan University, and a master’s degree in finance from Delaware Valley University. A former active duty Army officer, he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and received the Bronze Star Medal for service during combat operations. He resigned his commission from the United States Army in 2003.

Clauso has been in the financial services industry for more than three decades. She is a graduate from Rowan University and earned her Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1990.

Hoernlein, who has been working in the industry for over 18 years, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Widener University.

LPL Financial
LPL Financial has welcomed financial advisors Joey Price and Mary Ellen Holder to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms. The advisors reported having managed about $140 million of client brokerage, advisory and retirement plan assets. They join from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

Price and Holder created Price Investment Group in 2009, and their client base grew in 2016 when Price acquired Ouachita Financial Advisors from a retiring advisor, which continues to operate under that name. The Arkansas-based team, including administrative assistant Marti Pedigo, serves local professionals, business owners and retirees with strategic financial planning support.
