Merrill Lynch Welcomes Two From Barclays In The Golden State

Merrill Lynch has made two hires in San Francisco from Barclays.
Merrill Lynch's private banking and investment group has recruited Peter Kong and John Shaw from Barclays' wealth management business in San Francisco, CA.
The team produced $6 million in revenue last year and at Merrill Lynch reports to Tracy Murphy, regional managing director of the firm's private banking and investment group for the Pacific Northwest region.
At the end of last week, meanwhile, Merrill Lynch hired private wealth advisor Will Leven and his three-person team in Houston, TX, from UBS, where they managed $1.3 billion.
In its most recent earnings release on July 15, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management reported that advisor headcount was up 187 for the quarter, bringing the total to 14,370 – the fifth consecutive quarter of advisor growth.
