Merrill Lynch Recruits Family Wealth Dynamics, Governance Director

Merrill Lynch has created a new role within its unit that focuses on addressing family goals and other related issues.
Matthew Wesley has become a director at Merrill Lynch's Center for Family Wealth Dynamics and Governance, based in Seattle, WA. This is a newly-created position, Family Wealth Report can confirm.
Wesley will report to Stacy Allred, managing director of the group, which works with the firm’s 14,400 financial advisors to provide wealth structuring and guidance to high net worth clients.
He was previously founder of The Wesley Group, with a 29-year career as an estate planning attorney, family advisor and consultant behind him.
“Matthew helps address the complex issues of generational transition, family culture and ongoing governance,” Merrill Lynch said. “These issues often affect family enterprise succession, philanthropy and wealth transfer.”
The Center for Family Wealth Dynamics and Governance's mission is to “empower families to define the purpose of their wealth and to be intentional about wealth’s impact on themselves, their families and their communities,” Merrill Lynch said.
