Merrill Lynch Hires $1 Billion Team From UBS

The team hired by Merrill Lynch was responsible for $1 billion in assets and $7 billion in production at UBS.

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has hired two financial advisors to join the Rockerfeller Center office in New York. The duo will be part of the Gabriele VK Wealth Management team.

Joseph Gabriele and Paul Vasady-Kovacs, who have worked together for nearly 20 years, will be managing directors of the wealth management firm, and will be joined alongside Christian Martinez and Dana Shaker, who make up the rest of the team, Merrill Lynch said in a statement today.

The team, which was responsible for $1 billion in assets and $7 million in production at UBS, will focus on wealth planning and investment management for high net worth individuals, families, and organizations.

Gabriele has more than 45 years experience in the industry, and was the founder of investment firm Gabriele, Hueglin & Cashman. He has joined the company from UBS, where he worked for ten years.

Vasady-Kovacs has nearly 20 years’ experience in the wealth management sector. He joins with Gabriele from UBS, where he spent ten years at the firm.
