Mercer Adds Principal To Retirement Team In UK

This publication brings latest news on moves in the global wealth management industry.

Mercer, the global consulting firm operating in fields including wealth management, has appointed Robert Evans as principal in its retirement business.

His role includes advising corporates and trustees on UK pension schemes. He will also join the firm's innovation, policy and research team.

Evans will be based in London for the newly-created role.

The moves comes at a time when the pensions landscape has been radically changed by moves by the UK government to give holders of pension pots more freedom over how they can invest their money after the age of 55.

Previously, Evans was principal at Buck Consultants in London. He has also worked at Towers Perrin in the UK.

“The UK pension market continues to evolve and our clients require us to work with them to solve their problems - weighing up each individual situation to achieve the right solution. Robert’s track record in doing this makes him an ideal fit for Mercer,” said Tony Pugh, Mercer’s London retirement consulting leader.

Mercer has around 20,000 employees in over 140 countries, with annual revenue of $13 billion.
