Boston-based Meketa Investment, a investment consulting and advisory firm, has opened a new office in Portland, Oregon.

The new Portland office will focus on business opportunities with institutional funds in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.

The office was opened July 15.

“We are very pleased to open a Portland office, which nicely complements Meketa Investment Group’s other domestic locations,” said Mika Malone, principal at Meketa Investment Group, who will head the Portland office. “Meketa Investment Group has attracted a number of clients in the Pacific Northwest over the past several years. We’re confident formally establishing a presence in the region will allow us to further expand in this growing and dynamic marketplace.”

Meketa provides general investment consulting and advisory services as well as specialized private markets consulting and advisory services to institutional investors including public, corporate and union employee benefit plans, university endowments, charitable organizations, insurance companies, and family offices on a discretionary and non-discretionary basis.

Founded in the Boston area in 1978, the firm expanded to the San Diego area in 2003 and to Miami in 2011. Meketa Investment Group employs more than 100 professionals and consults on more than $270 billion in assets for over 90 clients whose total aggregate assets exceed $600 billion.
