Meet The Advisors Who Joined LPL Financial In The Second Quarter

The broker-dealer and investment advisor firm has issued an update on all the advisors who have joined its ranks in the latest quarter.
Investment advisor and broker-dealer LPL Financial has updated the market on the advisors who have affiliated with it during the second quarter of 2016, splitting the joiners into three categories depending on the level of client wealth.
At the end of the second quarter on June 30, LPL Financial serviced $488 billion in advisory and brokerage assets. Advisors associated with LPL served an estimated 45,000 retirement plans with an estimated $124 billion in retirement plan assets, as of June 30. The firm also supports around 4,200 financial advisors licensed and affiliated with insurance companies with customized clearing, advisory platforms, and technology solutions.
“We experienced another strong quarter for recruiting,” Bill Morrissey, LPL managing director, business development, said.
“Given the regulatory environment, including the final rule from the US Department of Labor in April [fiduciary standard], and the increasing complexity in the financial advice industry, advisors are looking for a firm with the scale and stability to be a long-term partner and one that can support a number of transitions, including a shift to an advisory business model,” he said.
