Jamie McLaughlin, former chief executive officer of Geller Family Office Services, joined the Subscribers’ Advisory Committee of reciprocal insurer Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE) yesterday.

The member-owned company provides insurance coverage for high-value homes, automobiles, boats, jewelry and art, as well as personal excess liability.

The advisory committee provides PURE’s attorney-in-fact, PURE Risk Management, with recommendations about ways to “better serve PURE’s membership, oversee audit functions, and serve as champions for PURE in their local communities", the company said in a statement.

“We are confident that Jamie’s extensive financial expertise and experience in the high-net-worth market will strengthen the Subscriber’ Advisory Committee’s ability to support PURE in its goal of meeting the insurance needs of successful individuals and families,”

William Wilson III, chairman of the committee president and chief executive officer of RefocuX said in a statement.

For his part, McLaughlin told Family Wealth Report “there is an inherent alignment of interest between the policy holder and the company that is consistent with my core beliefs and how I believe the wealth management business is transforming.”

A well-known industry figure, McLaughlin left Geller in late February after a six-month stint. He previously was managing director and head of the New York office of Convergent Wealth Advisors (formerly Lydian Wealth Management) for nearly five years.

Prior to joining Lydian, McLaughlin was the regional president of Mellon Private Wealth Management’s New York region.

Before his career in wealth management, he served 10 years in the Connecticut General Assembly.

McLaughlin also serves as the family office representative on the Board of Directors of the CT Hedge Fund Association.
