Matter Family Office Builds Regional Footprint

The family office firm has boosted growth in recent years with an investment pact two years ago and a merger last year.
Matter Family Office has added senior wealth advisors – both of whom previously worked as managing directors at Comerica Bank and Wells Fargo Private Bank. The duo – Chris Wrench and Melissa Linn – are based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
They will lead Matter’s presence in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill market, serving ultra-HNW clients.
The organization's expansion is an example of BW Forsyth Partners’ banking supporting its growth. Katherine Lintz (main picture), founder and managing partner of Matter Family Office, told FWR about the group's approach last year. Founded in 1990, the firm entered a strategic pact with BW Forsyth Partners (2024) and merged with IWP last year. It operates nationwide through offices in St Louis, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver and Raleigh-Durham.
“This deal [new presence] is a strategic footprint expansion to bring our integrated family office services to Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill,” Charlie Willhoit, chief executive officer of Matter Family Office, said.
Wrench (pictured below) is a Certified Financial Planner ™ and Certified Exit Planning Advisor, with more than two decades in advising HNW families and founders of privately held businesses on pre-transaction planning, investment management, estate planning, risk management and charitable strategies. Previously, he worked at Comerica Bank, Wells Fargo Private Bank and US Trust, according to his LinkedIn profile.
